To Dana Littlejohn's Black Widow series, book I entitled ANGEL, I have to say that this was a great little short story. Short, but sweet, getting right to the point. Though, not the type of story I would associate with Ms. Littlejohn having read several of her books before, it certainly shows that her writing isn't limited to one particular style or genre.

I fully enjoyed both her realistic characters and the smooth flow of the story. Since this is book I there was mention of other Black Widows. I look forward to meeting them, but for Angel, I gladly give it 5 ½ pens

SLAVE's Review

The Gods Silver Connection, by Dana Littlejohn is an excellent story. After reading several of her books now, I could tell that this was one of her earlier books. Though the writing style and familiar flow are apparent in this earlier read, this story lacks the maturity that shows in her more current books. But don't let that interfere with your enjoyment of this story! The character interaction and story flow is delightfully smooth with no unnecessary speed bumps, lulls or hiccups to interrupt your immersion into this romantic adventure. You will love the way she mingles the fantasy of the Norse gods with modern day. I gladly give this story 5 ½ pens plus refills

Reindeer Games, by Dana Littlejohn

Kinze and Taylor have had an arrangement for the last three years. They were both single, but kept each other in mind for holidays, parties and other functions whenever the mood struck.
Even though their current understanding was Kinze’s idea, she wanted to be more. She had fallen for him long ago and was making it her mission to make him hers exclusively.

Once again Dana Littlejohn has delivered very sensual little tale in the form of REINDEER GAMES. Now, I've been considered a bit of a scrooge at this time of year, but if I could have been the male recipient in this story, my 'Bah Hum Bug', would've sounded more like “Bbbahhh ..Hmm Mmm Mmmm” (light laughter). 

Kinze - the stunning leading lady, brings a spicy realism to this tale and Taylor, her paramour, and lucky recipient in this very sensual short, was open, honest and realistic. From start to finish Reindeer Games delivers unrestricted passion that's sure to keep its readers warm and toasty on any given night or day. I gladly give this all 5 ½ pens plus refills and longingly await Dana's next tale to help keep my Yule Log warm. 

Home with The Joneses, by Dana Littlejohn

After a stressful day at work in the world’s most aggravating city, all Reyna Jones could think about was getting home to her darling husband to unwind, but he was not there when she arrived. That was a problem.

SLAVE's Review:

 WOW. What can I say about this short intricately SEXXY story. I didn't know what to expect from the blurb, but I fully enjoyed the story when I read it and the tenacity of our leading lady Reyna. When it became obvious that she was actually Mistress Reyna, I was enthralled and immediately inserted myself into Marc’s, her husband’s, place in the story. To me this book was gave us a peek inside the life of a loving couple who found a unique and caring way to keep the sparks alive in their marriage. Maybe I can hint a little something like this to my GODDESS, and see what she'll grant me.  Ooh and as far as my review goes I give it the full 5 ½ pens plus refills.

The Last Mac Phee, by Dana Litlejohn

During the long wait to avenge them he met Charlene and fell in love. With love in his life again he hesitates to do the duty he has patiently waited over a hundred years to do. Will Charlene be the loophole that will allow him to have love and revenge?

SLAVE’s Review

The Last Mac Phee is an incredible story written by Dana Littlejohn. I read it from beginning to end without pause. The opening, which took place in 1890 Scotland, flowed smoothly into modern day. The way she moved the main character, Patrick, from the distraught youth, to a strong, charismatic adult is flawless. Charlene, our alluring lead woman, is stunning in her simple desire to fulfill a long desired wish that takes her to modern day Scotland, completes the story. 

I thoroughly enjoyed their interaction in this brief tale of brutal deceit, redemption and long awaited true love. Now the story also had two bad guys. One appears in old time Scotland and one in modern day, and they happen to be father and son. That was my only problem with this tale. I would've liked to have gotten to know Ian (he’s our modern day nemeses) just a little more, but that won't deter me from giving The Last Mac Phee 4 well deserved pens. Oh, and did I mention that the love scene was spectacular! I read that part 3times!!  So make that 4 ½ pens.

SLAVE's Review

I have to honestly say that RELEASING THE BAGGAGE by Dana Littlejohn was INCREDIBLE. This story had my attention early on when we're introduced to the main character, Jerri. She is out with her girlfriends, and one of them states (forgive me as I quote):  "…and how will you know Mr. Right when he comes along if you haven't already checked off Mr. Maybe, Mr. I-Don’t-Know-Yet and Mr. Oh-Hell-No?" 
This story was so packed with twist &turns it reads like a modern day MOVIE-OF-THE-WEEK that will have people tuning in nightly just to see what happens next. I was CAPTIVATED and AWED with the realism of Dana's world of Deceit, Bitchery, true love and great sex (I'm sorry love-making).
My favorite part was, well, EVERY-SINGLE-PAGE. My least favorite part was THE END. I want to share the characters, their quirks and triumphs, but I'd end up giving the whole thing away. So you, my review readers, will simply have to trust me on this one. With that said, I humbly give this story and Dana Littlejohn 5 PENS, & all the refills and paper she could ask for.

This was a great short story. I liked the characters very much. The build-up to the sex and the actual lovemaking was very stimulating and nicely done. 4pens 

LOST IN THE SEA OF YOU – Cynthia Arsuaga

He found the boat in late afternoon, on a February day as cold and dry as it gets in Maine. That’s how the adventure began for Mikael Larson, ex-Army, relatively new sheriff and unattached man in a small town. Starting uneventfully at home, by the time he walked into the station, the day turned weird on the way to unexplainable and a lifetime of love satisfied in death.

Review:
A hauntingly good story. This book was smoothly delivered and kept me engaged until the end. 4pens

Alex’s wife had left him for another man. He was hurt but realized he’d been partially to blame for the demise of their marriage. He worked long hours and spent less time at home and more time running his growing company. Deciding to overhaul his life, he sold his business and home, and moved to a new area in the city. While in a compromising position, he meets his new neighbor, Catrina, and hasn’t stop thinking about her. She’s everything he’s ever wanted, and if he can win her love and trust, he will do everything in his power to keep it.

Review:
The book opened with betrayal and tragedy. The beginning was a little slow, but not stagnant. It rebounded into a very nice read. 4 pens

FOREVER KIND OF LOVE – Sandy Sullivan

Becky O'Rourke hates Valentine's Day. From the moment her boyfriend broke her heart the year before, she doesn't want anything to do with the day for lovers. Can the possibility of a new love turn her head and heal her heart?

Review:
I think I would have enjoyed this story more if it didn't jump around so much. There was so much information hitting on several genres that I got confused on what the story was truly about. 3 pens

I'd recommend this anthology. The differences in the stories helped make Valentine's Day unique. I look forward to reading other stories from these authors and more anthologies from the publisher.
