Dojo Boys: The Italian Connection, by Alex A. Akira

This swiftly-paced two-volume romantic Yaoi love story tells the tale of the multi-talented thief/dancer Philippe Michael Ponty. First introduced in Dojo Boys: Dragon & Crow Volume II, the now twenty-two year old platinum haired, petite Adonis struggles to make a home for himself in America.

Volume I finds Philip settling in Connecticut in disguise, as he doesn't want to draw too much attention to his true line of work. Despite his caution, he meets and befriends a local rock musician, Tommy Sear, who despairs of ever having his band make it.

Quickly smitten by the dark-haired, shy Asian male that is Philip, Tommy seeks to make the young man his, but Philip doesn't believe in love; besides, he has a very real problem. He can't seem to get the victim of his last burglary, a green-eyed, virile Italian male... out of his mind.

With Philip's encouragement, Tommy renews his efforts to get his band, Sear, a record deal. He makes a demo and shortly after a scout contacts him, from Italy no less. The Italian scout is coming to America hear them play in the hopes of signing Sear to the much sought-after label, Romano Studios.
But Tommy has a secret and he's afraid that without Philip's help, they may not get the deal.

SLAVE's Review:

The story moved along like a local train during rush hour: hot and slow...but a great place to relax if you let yourself. Alex A. Akira does a great job with his characters. They were well developed and I enjoyed meeting them. I must admit that my first impression was "damn, another long drawn out story", but by the end I actually liked the book…all except for the author's awful attempts at expressing the moans of passion. They irritated me so much that they pulled me from the story. I would have given this book a 4 except for that.

A Double Sacrifice, by Jaxx Steele

The time of deliverance was just a few days away and Prince Kenwei could not recite the ancient words that would bind his twin sister to the lake god. Restless nights robbed his concentration. When the princess explained his dreams were similar to the ones that called the chosen one to the god, he knew she had to be wrong. Kenwei was convinced that there was no way he could be receiving a dream meant for the sister just because he was the prince, but was he right?

SLAVE's Review
Have you ever had a recurring dream that was more pleasurable than you’ve ever experienced while awake? Wishing that your waking world was half as good? Well, this is what you can expect from Jaxx Steele's latest pen book: A Double Sacrifice.
In this tale Jaxx's writing, character development, and story flow is sensuous, exciting and fulfilling at the same time, without skipping a beat.  Now normally, I’m kinda put off when there’s a lot of m/m bedroom detail, but in this short, Jaxx has managed to take a wet dream and turn it into 60pages of stimulation.

This story gets 5 ½ pens and all the refills he needs without hesitation as long as he keeps pumping em out. ;-)

Angel, by Cyma Rizwann Khan

It doesn’t matter what his name used to be. Now he is just “Angel”.

Destined to spend his life in captivity, 22-year old Angel secretly dreams of murdering his tormentors, especially Ty – the arrogant stranger who holds his reins – literally.

Ty, who has consistently pushed his conscience so far back he thought it would never resurface. Enter Angel – subdued, unhappy and downright stubborn – and Ty begins to unravel in the strangest fashion. Why does he feel for Angel something he never thought he would feel?

If you play a role for too long does it ever become you or is there is a chance your old soul will come back and claim the body?

Angel is a story about finding love in the darkest possible places. It is a journey into the hearts of people who find themselves captivated by the charms of love and seduction. It will make you sad, it will make you laugh, and sometimes it may even make you cry – a lot like true love.

SLAVE's Review
Let me just come out and say that ANGEL, by Cyma Rizwann Khan, was an excellent read! The main characters, Angel and Ty: top notch, truly alive and both very compassionate about what they want...even when it wasn't in the others best interest.
The story line is a wonderfully told dark tragedy. Angel is one of those stories that actually can and probably has happened, so the realism and emotional flow that Khan delivers is simply marvelous. Angel falls hopelessly trapped in his love for Ty. I felt an extreme attachment to this story and loved every page.

Yours to Command, by Cameron Lawton

You don't advertise your sexuality in the British Army, especially if you're in love with your Commanding Officer.

Don't let anyone fool you! The Military Police is no place for sissies. Captain Rory Sumner has a lot to lose. Discovered having a gay affair with a corporal, he's already been busted down the ranks once and the British Army are watching him very carefully. Joachim (Jack) Jones is blond-haired, blue-eyed and half-German ... plus he's in love with Rory. Unfortunately he's also Rory's assistant. They're both trying hard to ignore the fact that they're desperate for each other, which works.... until Rory finds Jack moonlighting as a rent-boy. He'll teach him a lesson!

SLAVE's Review
Every once in a while I come across a book, novel, novella, or short story that I am pleased to review. This novella, Yours To Command, by Cameron Lawton, is one of those. I appreciated his no-nonsense character interaction and story flow. The hesitant emotions shared between Rory and Jack was quite refreshing as they were pretty much honor-bound to not even to voice their hidden feelings for each other. This story comes together and concludes greatly.
I gladly give it 5 pens plus refills.

Cutaway, by Liz Borino

Two years after Steve Michaels called, “Action!” on a new phase in his career as co-producer on the television show Ben’s Life, the lights go up again on his Dom/sub relationship with actor Zack Greene, but Hollywood cameras don’t always capture the truth.
A mention of Steve’s past in the BDSM scene has Zack craving new ways for them to connect. All of the couple’s concerns fall away when Steve and his ex, Peter, are in a car accident. The last ones to know, Zack and Josh, Peter’s slave, rush to the hospital. The injuries from the accident force the dominant man to set aside his pride and accept help from Zack.
Will the couple get to explore new boundaries in their relationship or will the dependency Cutaway the structure holding their relationship in place?
Warning: Spanking, D/s relationship, light bondage, two men who can’t get enough of each other

SLAVE’s Review
SPOILER ALERT!
Wow, there is so much to say about CUTAWAY, the sequel to Liz Borino's ACTION. I hope it was the author’s intention to give this book the feel of a night time soap opera with several small episodes wrapped into one, waiting on the edge of their seats for the climactic conclusion because that’s what this book did. She hit that target splendidly.
Everything from Zack's long standing role as a lead T.V character getting killed off from the series, to Steve's almost fatal car crash. Then throw in a love struck young man, an outrageous scandal, add a cameo or two from ‘mama’ just for spice and mix it all into a BDSM atmosphere and you end up with an enthralling mini-series in book form.
This tale takes place several years after ACTION, but the author doesn't bore us with un-necessary back story, it just flowed into the now which I liked. At first I wasn't too sure about seeing this story to its end, but with the help of my outside conscience and reading muse, I finished. When this book finally concluded I was truly waiting for the theme music to begin and the closing credits to start rolling. LOL I had to remind myself that it was a book and night one of those night time dramas from the eighties.
Now with all that being said, I did feel the story hit a snag with one of the main characters. Steve had done something to violate the trust and love he and Zack share in the bdsm part of their relationship. Though the author addressed it, I still felt it wasn’t enough to correct what he had done in my opinion. This story was a little heavy with the spice for my taste, but I believe Cutaway is a good little meal for those with that type of pallet. I deleted a half point from my review for the slight against Zack, but overall I enjoyed this book very much.
