A Double Sacrifice, by Jaxx Steele

The time of deliverance was just a few days away and Prince Kenwei could not recite the ancient words that would bind his twin sister to the lake god. Restless nights robbed his concentration. When the princess explained his dreams were similar to the ones that called the chosen one to the god, he knew she had to be wrong. Kenwei was convinced that there was no way he could be receiving a dream meant for the sister just because he was the prince, but was he right?

SLAVE's Review
Have you ever had a recurring dream that was more pleasurable than you’ve ever experienced while awake? Wishing that your waking world was half as good? Well, this is what you can expect from Jaxx Steele's latest pen book: A Double Sacrifice.
In this tale Jaxx's writing, character development, and story flow is sensuous, exciting and fulfilling at the same time, without skipping a beat.  Now normally, I’m kinda put off when there’s a lot of m/m bedroom detail, but in this short, Jaxx has managed to take a wet dream and turn it into 60pages of stimulation.

This story gets 5 ½ pens and all the refills he needs without hesitation as long as he keeps pumping em out. ;-)

A Day on Plunderer's Pride, by Jaxx Steele

Life is hard but worthwhile on the pirate ship Plunderer’s Pride. Follow Captain Julian Hazard and his band of ruffians as they go about their daily business. As you endure their daily struggles and nightly rewards you may find that a pirate’s life may be for you, too.

SLAVE’s Review
This story is short but it takes you on a big journey of what life could've been like on an actual pirate ship. We join our heroes as they're taken a little time off from plundering other folks ships at an aptly named place called the Drunken Dog Tavern. Indulgences and decadence are the norm at this place. I’d like to visit there one day. Here the captain’s first mate, Nigel, is given an urgent request for his captain, Julian Hazard.
From there this story takes off on the high seas of love, lust, passion and adventure as they capture another ship along the way. This story brings a whole new meaning to shiver me timbers. LOL The great thing about Plunderer’s Pride is all takes place in a single day. What I liked most about this story was its stunning eye for detail. It wasn't the tired listening to the calm waves of most sea stories.  So, grab your cutlass, your eye patch, some scented oils for the captain and set sail with this marvelous tale aboard Plunderer's Pride which I give 4 pens.

Part of the Posse, by Jaxx Steele

Les Browning traveled with his trusted group of men for years. As the company made a cattle run from Texas to Kansas Les met Colt, a young cook looking to find his way in the world. They hit it off immediately, but Les couldn’t get too close to Colt until the men in his party gave the okay for Colt to travel with them. Can Colt ultimately prove himself worthy to be a part of their clique so that he and Les could be together?

SLAVE's Review
Though coming in at a little less than what I've come to expect from Jaxx Steele, Part of the Posse was still a pretty good read. We follow Colt as he tries to fit in a closed group of cattle riders while trying to figure out if what he felt for the leader of the posse was real or just the result of a one night stand.  I give this one 3 pens

Marked for Life, by Jaxx Steele

Victor Bradley was raised by a tree sprite after the death of his parents. When he became an adult he moved to the city, but the pull of the forest never left his heart. He took a leave of absence to take care of the only mother he ever knew, but was it his concern for her that brought him back to the forest or was it fate?

SLAVE’s Review
Marked for Life by Jaxx Steele was a truly entertaining short story. I enjoyed the creation/build up of the tension between the hero and foe that lasted for many, many years. The change from fantasy (shifters and fairies) to a more realistic view was done incredibly. To start, I loved Raymond, our 'misunderstood’ nemesis. When he demolished a husband and wife, in wolf form, reverted to human form and reveled in it...I was hooked.

Jaxx, did what he intended to do, provide us with an entertaining story with a beginning, middle and end, but I feel that on this one he just 'broad stroked it'. That is not a bad thing in foreplay or a quickie, yet I just wanted/needed and expected more.

However, the story for itself had an easy flow and was an exciting tale of not just love, but retribution, honor and soul mates which is truly a beautiful thing once realized. So I rate this with 3 ½ pens. But I must say this, if Jaxx ever finds the time I would love to see what happens after the story ends with these characters.
